Cognizant of the joblessness challenges fresh trainees from colleges face, Mitunguu Training Institute has developed robust strategies to produce graduates that prosper in all spheres of life.
The Institution that majors in skills and competencies transfer to youths, marked its first milestone by releasing to the World more than 900 graduates who are expected to make a positive impact and empower themselves.
Speaking during their 2023 graduation ceremony, the Institution’s Principal Lucy Anampiu said it faces challenges in mobilizing funds to construct enough tuition rooms and develop any new infrastructure to cater to increased enrolment and match the industry for relevant training.
“We require a lot of investing in finances and capacities which continue to stretch the scarce financial resources at our disposal. The institute envisages continuing to produce a competent and versatile human resource that meets the ever-changing market needs. The Institute engages trainees in research and innovation through trade fairs and robotics, sports, and recreation cooperate social responsibility and culture showcasing,” Anampiu said.
Anampiu appealed to both county and national governments as well as other partners to collaborate and uplift the institution to the standards.
Anampiu added that they offer courses that are skillful and market-driven for the actualization of Vision 2030 and spearhead industrial growth and poverty eradication through wealth creation.
“We offer Agriculture and environment studies, building and civil engineering, business studies and entrepreneurship, computer and informatics, electrical and electronics engineering, Hospitality and Fashion design, mechanics and automotive engineering, and Liberal studies departments among others,” Anampiu said.
The Institution’s Board chairman Kenneth Gitonga and his predecessor Janaro Gatangugi lauded the board, parents, guardians, trainers, and trainees for their sacrifice that has made the institution grow tremendously.
Gitonga said they anticipate Mitunguu has the capacity to become the best TVET in the Country soon. Mitunguu Technical Training Institute currently has more than 3,000 trainees.
