Tharaka Ward MCA Muthengi Ndagara has urged Kitui Governor Julius Malombe to ensure the marginalized Tharaka community in the County gets a CEC slot for power balance.
“Tharaka is the minority group in the county of Kitui and we demand an equal share of government CECs because all other constituencies have a representative in this government but none from the Tharaka community. We also want to get equal development projects,” Ndagara said.
Ndagara, who has promised to turn around the Ward says the time has come for the voice of his people to be heard.
Niagara resigned as a veteran Journalist to join politics He is also a renowned Musician.
Ndagara said he will keep the leadership in place on his toes to ensure his people get job opportunities.
“I plead with Governor Julius Malombe to reciprocate the overwhelming votes we gave him. Tharaka people voted Malombe 100% to the man and this is the reason we demand services. The previous government had sidelined Tharaka people in terms of representation especially chief officers of CECs,” Ndagara said.
Unlike other wards in Kitui County that are occupied by the Kamba people, Tharaka Ward is mainly occupied by the Tharaka community bordering Tharaka Nithi County.
