Embu Senator Alexander Mundigi has moved a motion in the Senate seeking to constitute a team of commissioners to find a solution to the weekly protests by Azimio.
Mundigi lamented that for the last 30 years, the Country has been experiencing chaos, divisions, destruction of property, and deaths after elections.
“Around 30 years there have been chaos and fighting and division, in 2012/2013 there were lots of chaos which occurs after every electioneering period. It was similar in 2017 where chaos rocked the Country but there was the handshake between opposition leader Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenya,” he said.
He said in 2022 despite Raila losing the Presidency to William Ruto he has never consented to the outcome thus causing confusion and chaos, houses being broken, fighting, burning cars, businesses paralyzed and the expressway destruction amounting to Ksh700 million.
“Is it possible for the two to dialogue and come up with an amicable solution? Can the Senate constitute a team of commissioners to ensure there is peace in the Country?’Mundigi sated.
Raila has listed three reasons why he will lead his supporters in the event he dubbed “The grand march to Reclaim our Nation.
Raila is also protesting against the high cost of living the massive looting of public resources and the withdrawal of subsidies to food, fuel, and education.
