Residents of Kambi ya Juu in Isiolo County continue to live in fear due to the rising cases of insecurity in the area.
This comes in the wake of the brutal murder of a middle aged woman with her private parts being severed by her killers.
At least three people have been killed in the last one month sparking an uproar from the residents.
Speaking during a peace baraza in Kambi ya Juu, the residents blamed poor road network in the area for hampering police operations and called upon the relevant authorities to intervene.
Isiolo Deputy County Commissioner Robert Wangila has blamed a section of residents for withholding crucial information from the police. He called upon them to volunteer information to the relevant agencies in order to enable them track down criminal activities.
Isiolo Governor Mohammed Kuti pledged to work with the relevant stakeholders to address the issue.
“We must increase our intelligence activities in order to address the cases of insecurity” he said.
The Governor further promised put up high mast floodlights to boost security as well as the deployment of KPR officers to beef up security.
“In a bid to beef up security in the area,my administration will closely work with the county security team to ensure night patrols are increased. My administration will also deploy KPR officers who will work alongside the Kenya police and ensure the area gradually returns to a semblance of normality.” Kuti added.
