The construction of Kirubia Stadium is a blessing in many ways. The Stadium is not only a public place but a place where things will be shown to the public.
The completion of the facility was achieved as a result good working relationship between the National Government and the county government of Tharaka Nithi where the current governor Muthomi Njuki and the Chuka Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene have been playing a leading role in having the ultra-modern stadium in the area. The stadium will be mostly used for outdoor activities.
The stadium has spacious terraces for spectators. Another great facility is the floodlights which are an important element in stadium design, allowing games to be played after sundown.
Apart from the football pitch, there is a track that will accommodate athletics track events such as Sprints, middle distance races, hurdles, and relay. Athletics field events such as shot put, Hammer Throw, Discus, Javelin throw, Long jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, and high jump will be accommodated.
The Stadium indeed comes with economic benefits to the community. People who will be attending games or those that will be working for the home teams competing in the stadia will provide new spending within the community which will expand the local employment.
High-profile matches and competitions in the stadium will attract tourists and companies to the host town further increasing local spending and jobs. The building of the stadium created construction jobs.
