President William Ruto has appointed former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and former Tharaka Nithi governor Samuel Mbae Ragwa to head government parastatals.
Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki hailed the move by President Ruto as they congratulated the very people they defeated.
Kiraitu was appointed as chairperson of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya.
“This morning I would like to congratulate Meru’s 2nd Governor Hon Kiraitu Murungi on his most recent appointment, special and heartfelt thank you to our President H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto for remembering the people of Meru,” Mwangaza said.
Congratulating Ragwa over his appointment as chairperson National Cereals and Produce Board, Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki said it was an honor for a son of their county.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 (2a) of the National Cereals and Produce Board… I William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and commander in chief of Kenya Defense Forces do appoint Samwel Ragwa to be chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Cereals and Produce Board for a period of three (3) years with effect from 20th April 2023,” read the Gazette notice.
Njuki wrote on his FB page “The people of Tharaka Nithi thank President William Ruto for yet another appointment of our former Governor Samuel Mbae Ragwa as the new Chairman to the National Cereals and Produce Board.”
