The majority of the members of the Isiolo MCAs are making it difficult for the MPs to interfere in the affairs of the county government.
Let by the Deputy Speaker David Lemantile and the Majority leader Isaak Fayo, the ward reps have vowed to keep the MPs, including Senator Fatuma Dullo from meddling in Governor Mohamed Kuti’s administration’s affairs.
In a show of the cordial relationship that exists with Governor Kuti, the MCAs have come out openly to defend his administration, as a section of residents poured cold water on it, saying it would compromise their oversight role. In a recent incident when word went around that there were plans of impeaching governor Kuti, the MCAs came out fighting and protecting the Governor.
Nominated MCA Mumina Konso told the Eastern Newspaper that the impeachment issue was a creation of some leaders in Isiolo who are out to sabotage Governor Kuti’s administration.
“We know what our Senator and some other leaders are doing, they are inciting the people against the County Government of Isiolo for selfish reasons, we will not allow that’ Mumina said.
Leader of the majority in the County Assembly who is also the Kinna ward MCA Isaak Fayo revealed that 15 members of the County Assembly out of the 17 are supporting the County Government a situation that should give room to the Executive to perform their duties without fear.
Political temperatures are rising in many parts of Isiolo County as the election year approaches.
