Meru: Woman saved from attempted suicide

A woman who said she’s from Embu has been rescued by boda boda riders and members of the public from under the Kathita bridge in Meru town where she had reportedly spent the night.

The woman whose clothes were wet and dripping with water and kept hesitating before speaking said that she wanted to commit suicide but she declined to say why when asked the  reason behind her  actions. She said she was not married despite spotting a marriage ring on one of her fingers

She was shivering and appeared to be extremely confused.

One middle aged lady who was among the onlookers and who appeared to have been touched by the plight of the woman held her by her left hand and led to her car and drove  her to Meru police station upon being prevailed to do so by the other onlookers

The early morning incident attracted a huge crowd of onlookers and caused traffic snarl up on the ever busy town entry & exit route.
