Three killed in Isiolo retaliatory attack

Three people have perished following retaliatory attacks between two communities along the Isiolo-Garissa Counties border. Among the deceased were two children and one suspected raider.

Confirming the incident Isiolo County Commissioner John Ondego said security in the area has been beefed and called on the local leaders from the two counties to step in bring normalcy to avert further retaliatory attacks.

“The two communities have been coexisting peacefully in Modogashe for a long time and I call upon all leaders political and religious from both sides to step in and push for peace before the situation escalates further” he said.

Ondego further appealed to members of the public to remain calm even as the government seeks a permanent solution to the matter. He assured candidates sitting their examinations of their security noting that additional officers had been deployed.
