Marsabit County Governor Mohamud Ali has reshuffled his cabinet as he aims at streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency in service delivery.
No executive was dropped in the reshuffle which has been seen by many as a way of diffusing ethnic tensions in the county.
In the changes Dr. Jama Wolde who was previously the CEC Member for Roads and Public Works has been moved to Health Services swapping places with Lemereyan Timado who will now head the Department of Roads and Public Works.
Hussein Ali Abdi who was the CEC Member for Public Administration, County Coordination & ICT has been re-deployed to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Enterprise Development and his position taken by Amina Chala who was previously the CEC Member for Trade, Industry and Enterprise Development.
The changes also saw various chief officers move dockets with Mr. Golich Dima moving from the Health Services Department to Agriculture. Ms. Fatuma Said moves from the Department of Lands and Urban Development to Tourism, Culture and Social Services with Abdub Halake Bante taking over as the acting Chief Officer for Finance.
Bartabes Galmagar will now serve in the department Economic and planning moving from the Department of Energy and Urban Development with Wario Bulle Sora from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Social Services heading to Public Works and Housing Development docket.
Muktar Guracha has been moved from the Public Works and Housing docket to Lands and Urban Planning with Fatuma Wario taking over as the new Chief Officer, Health Services. Abdullahi Barako heads to the Energy and Urban Development docket from the Department of Finance and Economic Planning.
