Tharaka Nithi: Kajuki water plant set to transform lives

Tharaka Nithi: Kajuki water plant set to transform lives
September 28, 2018 Eastern Newspaper

Lack of access to clean and affordable water in Kajuki, Chuka Igambang’ombe is set to be a thing of the past following the construction of the Kajuki water treatment plant.

The project which is jointly funded by the County Government of Tharaka Nithi and Redcross Kenya will supply residents with clean and safe water for consumption and other uses.

Speaking when he laid the foundation stone, Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki said the project will curb the spread of water borne diseases. Njuki reiterated his commintment to ensuring that residents of Tharaka Nithi access clean, safe and affordable drinking water.

“We are building the intake and the rest of the requisite infrastructure while Red Cross installs the treatment plant. Together we target to deliver clean, safe and affordable drinking water to our people. This will reduce water-borne diseases and enhance our efforts to curb infections at preventative stage rather than curative. Njuki said.
