CS Munya backs calls for referendum

Trade, Industrialization and Cooperatives CS Peter Munya has thrown his weight behind the calls for a referendum.

Speaking in Kisima ward, Buuri Sub-County, during the burial of Mzee M’Iringo M’Imathiu, the CS noted that the referendum should not be politicized and called for honest and sincere consultations amongst Kenyans to identify areas that need some adjustments or changes.

Munya added that the current wage bill was unsustainable and it was negatively impacting on the Country’s economic growth.

He further appealed to Meru residents and leaders at large to support the building bridges initiative as it was a noble initiative aimed at enhancing national cohesion and unity. He noted that the handshake would provide long lasting stability to the country and spur economic growth.

“This initiative will see an end of recurrent upheavals every election cycle, it’s the perfect remedy to ending them. For our community to fast track development, we need to work together in harmony.” He said.
